Artistic Project: "Design of the Yellow House Area – Prästholmen/Boden: A Spatial Intervention for Refugee Integration"
This project reimagines the Yellow House area in Prästholmen, Boden, as a site for artistic and architectural intervention, aiming to foster refugee integration through thoughtful spatial design. By intertwining community needs with the natural environment, the project explores how physical spaces can be transformed into inclusive environments that encourage belonging and connection.
Artistic Statement
The project reflects on the role of architecture as a mediator between people and place, particularly for refugees navigating new landscapes and identities. Inspired by the dynamics of rootedness and displacement, the design uses spatial elements to create opportunities for dialogue, interaction, and shared experiences. The intervention emphasizes the relationship between individuals and nature, proposing a harmonious coexistence that nurtures a sense of home and community.
This work highlights the transformative potential of space as a tool for integration, bridging the physical and emotional needs of those seeking belonging in unfamiliar territories.
